Catalina on the Pacific Dream

On March 18th 2000, Erik, my brother Matthew, and I embarked on the dive boat Pacific Dream. It is run by Atlantis Charters. The boat is a huge catamaran, and is awesome!

We were trying to go out to the outer islands, first trip was supposed to go to Santa Barbara island, but got canceled due to the weather. We rescheduled for a boat to San Clemente Island. The weather was better, but there was still 6-8 foot swells, so they changed the boat to go to catalina instead.

We did four dives along the catalina coast, Ship Rock, Blue Caverns, and two at Long Point. The first dive was cut short after the crew noticed the current was stronger than they thought at first, so they recalled everyone back on the boat and headed for more protected waters.

The first few pictures are from Matt's Bonica Snapper camera, the rest from mine. All of Matt's (underwater) and most of mine are using close-up lenses. The visiblility was only about 10-20 feet, and you can see the junk in the water on the farther shots.
